Integration of Multivariate Rational Functions Given by Straight-Line Programs

چکیده
We present a well-parallelizable algorithm which, taking a straight-line program for the evaluation of a vectorial field of rational functions of Q(X1, . . . , Xn) as input, decides whether they allow a rational potential function and, in case of affirmative answer, computes it as output. We introduce a mixed model of representation of polynomials to allow the application of integration techniques and show how to perform some basic operations with it. The algorithm is presented as a family of arithmetic networks of polynomial size and polylogarithmic depth in the degree of the occurring polynomials.

Non Uniform Rational B Spline (NURBS) Based Non-Linear Analysis of Straight Beams with Mixed Formulations
Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed traditionally using conventional finite element basis functions (i.e., cubic Hermite, equi-spaced Lagrange interpolation functions, or spectral/hp Legendre functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, tota...
متن کاملFactorization of Polynomials Given by Straight-Line Programs
An algorithm is developed for the factorization of a multivariate polynomial represented by a straight-line program into its irreducible factors. The algorithm is in random polynomial-time as a function in the input size, total degree, and binary coefficient length for the usual coefficient fields and outputs a straight-line program, which with controllably high probability correctly determines...

A collocation method with the modified equilibrium on line method (ELM) forimposition of Neumann and Robin boundary conditions is presented for solving the two-dimensionalacoustical problems. In the modified ELM, the governing equations are integrated over the lines onthe Neumann (Robin) boundary instead of the Neumann (Robin) boundary condition equations. Inother words, integration domains are...
متن کاملAn Iterative Method for Numerical Integration of Rational Functions
We describe a new method for numerical integration of rational functions on the real line. Given a rational integrand, we provide a new rational function preserving its integral on the line. The coefficients of the new function are explicit polynomials in the original ones. These transformations depend on the degree of the input and the desired order of the method. Both parameters are arbitrary...
